After Mumbai social butterfly Meera Gandhi moved to New New York she seems to have moved a notch up the social ladder as well. For if recently she was seen presenting the award for the Best International Designer to JJ Vallaya at the fashion awards in NY, she was seen hobnobbing with Her Royal Highness Queen Noor of Jordan and Prince Pavlos of Greece at the United World College event to raise funds for student scholarships for Indian students. A panel dis- cussion on 'Education: A pathway to peace' had HRH Queen Noor, former US Ambassador to Pakistan Nick Platt, Prof Jagdish Bhagwati from Columbia University and famous Newsweek editor Arnaud de Borchgrave participating and Meera Gandhi moderating. Whoever thought Page 3 regulars were all fluff and no substance, well, it's time you sat up and took notice!
