MEERA GANDHI (GSM'89) and her husband,
Vikram, were buying more than a house a couple of
years ago - they were getting a piece of history. Their
townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, a
five-story neo-Renaissance rowhouse, was the last
home of Eleanor Roosevelt, who lived there from
1959 to 1962. The house, built in 1898, was recently
renovated and restored by the Gandhis, with architect
Pedro Castillo. Gandhi reports that she has hosted
charity events at the house, including one attended
by Uma Thurman to raise money for the Gujarat
earthquake disaster and a Digital Partners fundraiser
to send computers to developing countries. Gandhi is
on the board of Digital Partners.
